Religion - many religions meet one God

There are many religions and faiths, but essentially we all are searching one God. Whether it is Allah, Buddha, Jesus, God, Shiva, the Sun, it's the same denomination. Many different languages one same God. We all see God in different ways.

The world has been divided into so many regions and countries, therefore religious traditions have developed differently. Gradually the world is becoming one and new religions are trying to group religious thoughts under one roof, such as the Baha'i religion.

Unfortunately, religion is also a cause for conflict. Very often religion is used as a mean of gaining power over populations or using it as an excuse for harming others.

It is very interesting to look at religious symbols. In the western world, the Star of David and the Swastika could seem opposing due to Nazism vs Judaism, however, in Hinduism these two symbols are very often side by side in temples around India.

Many countries such as France have divided the State and the Church, driving people away from religion. Some countries, such as Israel, makes religion their State symbol. What ever the case, religion plays a crucial role in our societies. We all search answers about life after death, why we are living, what we have to do in our lives. Religion tries to answer these questions, and the different opinions make a religion what it is.

Variety of culture, traditions and thought is what makes our world so colourful. Understanding and respecting other religions is important. Ignorance towards religion creates prejudice and violence. No one religion is better than the other. We must all find God in our own way.
